darn...EOYs only a few more days to go.
and still no revision on humanities (geog and social studies) done.
i don't know how i'm going to do any revision on those two stupid subjects, because everytime i pick up my geography pill for at the most 10 seconds, i feel like as if i just took 20 sleeping pills. then...
anyway, i managed to get 72 for a mock chem exam =D. not bad, considering the fact that i did not even study beforehand, and not referring to notes even though it was open book (well, it was because i forgot to bring them actually). however, the chem teacher said this was one of the easiest papers ever set. great...just the motivation i needed...
i think i'm just going to ignore what she said. ignorance is bliss.
and...halo 3 is coming closer too! it's quite a big distraction...but i've managed to try and stop finding spoilers for halo 3 XD.
anyway, for those of you who don't know about this, here's a brief overview of what happened in the halo series so far.
in halo 1, master chief, the main protagonist who wear's that armour, had just escaped, barely, from a technologically superior alien race know as the covenant. the covenant totally destroyed one of the human's planets, known as reach. they targeted it because all of earth's supersoldiers, like mc (master chief) were assembled there to get armour upgrades. so they take advantage and kill them all. almost. mc survives and is assumed to be the only spartan (supersoldier) alive. he goes on to discover a holy relic which the covenant worship and discover that it is actually a super weapon capable of blowing up every sentient being in the galaxy. that is, if all 7 of them are fired. they are known as : halos. obviously, they are ring-shaped. if one of them fires, the others will follow due to some communication device. so the crazy covenant, not knowing about the halo's true ability, goes on to think that activating halo will bring them to what they call, "the great journey". so they try and activate it but mc blows it up first, stopping them. then mc escapes with his AI, cortana, and proceeds back to reach, where he finds that some of his fellow spartans have survived (kelly, william, fred, kurt and linda). they all go back to earth to help protect it as the covenant draws closer and closer to our most precious foothold. earth, of course.
halo 1 ends and halo 2 begins with mc in a space station, known as cairo, receiving some awards for bravery and things like that. then suddenly, with no warning, a small (relatively small) covenant space fleet begins to invade earth. mc is assigned to defend the cairo station, which he succeeds, "returning" the bomb the convenant planted in the station. he then falls through space and lands on a human destroyer, which brings him back to earth.
on earth, humans are getting defeated, one battle after another. mc comes in to crush some covenant troops, including a scarab walker (some giant thing which looks like a scorpion which pulverises anything with a huge plasma cannon). mc gets on the human destroyer and follows an escaping covenant destroyer through slipspace (alternate dimension which allows people to teleport). there, another halo is found and the stupid covenant try to go and activate it again. mc tries to stop them, but when he killed their leader (a prophet), he gets blasted out of the sky by the covenant destroyer and lands in the sea (yes the halos do have water bodies). then, the focus shifts to another character. the arbiter, a rebelling alien, known as an elite (sanghelli, in alien) is betrayed and he also lands up in the same place as mc, saved by a giant parasitic form known as th flood. this particular flood was their leader, called gravemind. halos, were in fact designed to stop these forms by killing all sentient beings so that they have nothing to feed on. so gravemind sends mc and the arbiter to stop the insane convenant troops from getting the key to fire halo. mc, unfortunately, gets sent into the middle of a covenant base. luckily, he survives due to a civil war going on there. apparently, news of what halos actually do (kill everyone) have leaked out among the ranks and many of them began to rebel. they have found out that the prophets have betrayed them.
the arbiter, however, finds the owner of the key. a pack brutes, another race in the covenant. and their leader, tartarus. there, he chases after them and eventually kills tartarus and stops halo from firing. barely. however, due to this close shutdown, all other halos are put on to remote comtrol and can be fired from somewhere known as the ark.
the focus shifts back to mc, who successfully hitched a ride in a forerunner ship (a race even more powerulf than the covenant, but have mysteriously disappeared. they built the halos). it teleports back to where earth is, and mc gets into radio contact with lord hood, a human commanding officer. lord hood then asks someone to get them on a private channel, where he asks:
"Master Chief, can I know what the hell are you doing on that ship?"
Chief: "Sir. Finishing this Fight"
*cuts off*
awaiting to finish the fight in halo 3 XD
P.S. this is not even half the full plot of halo.
