back from ISYF 2009 (:
AND IT WAS HELLA FUN :D
it was a week that i would never, EVA forget (:
all the friends i made during the forum, all the amzing facilitators ( ESP KRANKY KWANKI AND JIAN HUA :D), the fun programme, made it such a unforgettable event.
it wasn't as formal as i expected it to be. and the amound of money that was spent! daryl said it was over 150k! OMG :D
and we didn't pay a single cent \o/
here's about what happened during teh past week (:
#day 1 sunday
check in. briefing + boring stuff + bridge :D
#day 2 monday
opening ceremony was as usual, boring. with a few long speeches and token of appreciation stuff. then we were introduced to our project groups. shuyi, zhiyi, crystal, bofei and me. not much talking cos we were still kinda shy :/ after that went for amzing race with podi, luna, daryl, orange, ting wei and two other ppl whose name i've forgotten :X chiong-ed around city hall mrt and purple line. quite fun but very, VERY tiring. since we were the last group to finish, we only got a trip to the merlion. but who cares? it was just for the fun during the race :D
#day 3 tuesday
was half awake in the morning so dont really remember what happened. except that i presented my research project to some ISYF participants and sec 3 students from high school.
research symposium after that and mr ZEKE presented his project :D along with joseph and kai zhi. omg so zai la. can present in front of nobel laurettes. jealous D:
had project discussion again after that and got to know my group betta :D
went to night safari at night. got to see some animals sleeping in the dark and smelled their crap and stuff. bleh. although the ben and jerry's made the trip worth it :D
#day 4 wednesday
had culture hour in the morning and a dialouge session with NUS professors. i think i dont want to go NUS (if can la) next time liao. those two professors never answer questions one. keep avoiding them like politicians -.- we all got tired of asking them in the end and the session became mostly silence and facilitator donglu trying to fill up the silence lol :D
had book circle after that. i was freaking nervous la! didn't prepare at all! read only 3 pages of the thick book while the others all like did so much research. luckily, thanks to my higly developed intelligence, i managed to come up with a few questions regarding the events in the book and it's relevance in our lives. one of my comments even got quoted in the closing ceromony newsletter! am i a genius or what? ;D
went to chinatown with amazing race group at night. brought the foreigners to orchard and walked around. watched 'love matters' movie after that. apparently it was rated only 1.5 stars according to shuyi's mom. but it was damn funny la! no plot at all though :/
#day 5 thursday
had a dialouge session with professor osheroff, american nobel laurette. a really fun guy. he kept niao-ing the bush administration haha :D
chionged a bit of project in the afternoon and slacked around.
shuyi's parents brought us out for dinner at ulu pandan for seafood :D

some hwachong ppl went out with nygh ppl and didn't sleep at all haha. kudos to those crazy people :D
#day 6 friday
CNY CELEBRATIONS AT JC SIDE!
not really better than high school side lol. although the performances had more quality, it didn't really get people high :/
dialouge sessions with the other nobel laurette, professor kurt wuthrich. couldn't really understand his accent so decided to sleep.
went for an uber short aviation science course and flew a plane for only 15 minutes D:
too bad it couldn't be longer :/
had culture hour after that, which was almost like a crapping session between facils and participants. super fun :D
went for closing ceromony after that. DAMN UBER HIGH CLASS ZOMG.
there were like 3 knives and 3 forks and dno how many spoons and i had no idea how to use tem all omg D:
and it was super cold inside the ballroom!
the whole thing probably costed hci and temasek like 60k++.
after the dinner people got high and started cam whoring like crazy. then we all dragged kwanki and jian hua out to force them to perform on the piano :D everyone got even higher after that and we started singing songs like 童话 and 朋友 :D 朋友 so famous la! even indonesians knew hot to sing it! :D sang until the hotel staff stopped us, so we went onto the bus to sing moar :DD
tried to bond kwanki back at boarding sch. but thanks to 45 hours str8 without sleeping, most hc ppl were all half dead and decided to go sleep instead.
#day 7 today
went to eat prata for breakfast and zhao-ed home to sleep after that. D:
